Airmail - Your Mail With You App Reviews

Hai Huynh.

I love Airmail, the best email client Ive used. Also the support is prompt and courtesy, thank you so much Sarah for your help. I would strongly recommend this email client.

Did they test it?

Im beside myself over how broken this latest version is. Syncing doesnt work. It just doesnt work! It used to work, why did it stop working? Ironically this version is supposed to "improve Sync on bad signal networks". At what cost? Completely breaking Sync on good signal networks?

Email requires pinch to zoom & scroll

Lots of bells and whistles here. I especially like the actions integration with other apps. Send an email to calendar for example. That said I found the basic rendering of the email bad; lots of wasted white space and I needed to zoom in and scroll left and right to read an email, who had time for that? The stock mail app was much better at rendering emails. I found the threading awkward to use.

Wish I could give more than 3 stars

This app could be so good. But it is buggy. The developers issue an update and its gets buggier still. Too bad. Great potential. Always frustrating.

Great app, and great support!

I love using Airmail. Its feature-rich and does everything that I want it to do. The one time that I reached out to support for an issue, Sarah helped me get it sorted out in a matter of minutes.

Good

I really like it but as ot has been mentioned before there are still issues. Hooemto be able to see fue email on iPad version. I would also like the ability to increase the text size, too small. I have the version for iOS and MacOS. Please fix all the issues and youll get the 5 stars.

Nice, but no flags!

If you use flags in Apple Mail or Spark, like I do, you won’t be able to find them in Airmail. Here is what Airmail support had to say about flagged emails: "For now, we do not support flags in Airmail. You can see them in the starred folder. The starred folder in Airmail will show you only those messages which are starred in Airmail and not any other email client or webmail. You can see these (from outside Airmail) starred messages in Inbox but not in the starred folder.” I was thrilled to try Airmail after the 2017 Apple Design Award it received. I now regret having bought the apps on iOS and MacOS, so I’m leaving this review to warn others. Nice app, but deal breaker for me :(

Typically Great!

Airmail is typically a great app, but the latest has issues syncing and Ive had issues with Airmail on my phone not updating to reflect Airmail on my Mac. Its really annoying to have to delete/archive messages on my Mac only to have to redo it all on my phone. Ive tried deleting and reinstalling the app on my phone, but it continues to have the same issues.

The best email client on iOS. Hands down.

I have tried 35 email apps as of 5-27-17 [updated] both free and paid and airmail was the best of the pack by a ridiculous margin. EDIT 6/8/17. I have never in my entire 35 years of computing seen support email back so quickly. At one in the morning Pacific standard time I got a reply from Steve within two minutes. These people just stay up 24 hours a day answering emails? Support was simply godlike. I got a response from 3 different reps within MINUTES of my email (no joke). Even on MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND I got a response on a Saturday night within minutes from Steven. We were able to locate the issue and he sent a note to the developers. This is the best designed, maintained, and most features email app in the App Store. It is the ONLY app that one can add finger swipe-able email sending to onenote- a feature I have been search for the past 4 years. Interface is beautiful, and the application is customizable as far as the eye can see. I sincerely hope this app is continually developed. It is the best I have ever seen

No support

More than 10 days ago Ive written an eMail to the support and asked for help. I havent got an answer so far. When I pay 5,49€ for an app that does not work properly I do really expect support.

Awesome but...

... I get gigantic problems with sync lately. It takes forever or never sync.

Improved

The last two updates have strengthened AirMail operations. Previous Review: AirMail2s functionality and reliability have degraded to a point where this may no longer be considered more than a broken app. Free competitors like Outlook, Gmail and Spark are superior in most aspects of email.

Keeps crashing

Keeps crashing after the last update. Has bugs synching and sending emails. Used to be great, now has lots of problems. Please fix.

The most versatile email app there is! Great support too!!

Airmail does everything it claims (and maybe more). The send later feature is great and its available in both the Mac and iOS Airmail apps. Ive also used their support to make the most of Airmails features. "Sarah" provided fantastic and quick response. Easy to understand instructions allowed me to make the most of Airmail.

Tantalizingly Close But Not Quite There

I got Airmail primarily because I have been looking for an iOS app that has the option to pre-download emails and then work offline. Airmail appears the very best iOS app in terms of that function. I am also pleased by its very comprehensive configurability. However, I am encountering two significant problems. The first is that emails from certain sources are not rendering at all--i.e., are blank. I can work around this by reading those emails with another email client. The bigger problem, and really a showstopper for me, is the inability to deal with emails in a thread individually--i.e., to delete or forward the individual emails. If those issues are addressed, I would give Airmail 5 stars.

Syncing is extremely hit and miss

I move frequently between my desktop mail client and IOS client. Message syncing is extremely frustrating when I deleted messages an hour ago and they still show up (despite refreshing) on my phone. And God help me if I deleted an Outlook message. Ive had them keep reappearing for weeks afterward.

Ok but...

It has some irritating features. For example - notification is shown before the mail is loaded. This means you can click on the notification and be taken to... message doesnt exist screen. Its a very serious overlooking. Please fix!

Best ever!

Best email app ever and ever! Everything is perfect on both platforms!

Amazing email app

If you want to do more with your email, like easily move messages to folders, or other 3rd party apps, Airmail is the way to go. And, if you get stuck, customer support staff like Sarah are always available to help.

Creepy privacy

When authorizing Airmail to access e.g. your gmail account, its not just the app that have access but also Airmail servers. According to their support the access will not be used if notifications is disabled, but there is no way to disallow Airmails servers/staff the access (i.e. one cannot distinguis between giving the app access to your email and Airmails servers access).
