Getting Worse

At first Airmail was a great email app, after all the updates the app is supposed to get better, but its getting worse. The sync is way off between devices. And the app is just slow in fetching emails. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and the app feels really buggy to me. What a disappointment Airmail.

Phone running HOT since 1.6.5

Phone running much hotter than normal with release of 1.6.5. Update says improved syncing but phone is continuously syncing. Come on guys test before you release updates. Going backward not foreward.

The best client for iOS but buggy.

I sent in a report about an issue with using *@* filters in gmail to never send to spam - every email that gets sent triggers a notification. I sent detailed pics, exported copy of my filters, pictures, EVERYTHING. when the new version came out I saw bug fixes and was so excited aaaaaand nothing. I reemailed support and they had idea what I was talking About. Listen I love the app, support is ridiculously fast, but it all doesnt matter if the bugs are not being followed up on. EDIT: its true that only one email was sent and I unsubscribe but please please please dont send me an email and mess with my productivity/sleep (I am a night shift worker) to tell me u won an Apple reign award.

My daily email app

I use AirMail daily (in fact, just deleted the other mail apps, including Mail) from my iPhone. Havent seen the issues the other reviewers have mentioned (and hopefully didnt just jinx myself). But, I use any mail client for going through my inbox, sending actionable items to OmniFocus (The reason I use AirMail instead of Mail), and either archiving or deleting the message. I also use delayed send (aka "undo"), scheduled send, and Markdown. Thats it. And, given that use, AirMail handles it all well on iOS and MacOS. Being able to set up a new device just by importing setting synced via iCloud is handy too.

I really want to like it

But I just cant. Its got all of the features I want - great integration to third party apps, incredibly customizable, great UI. But it just cant sync to save its life. You delete an email, and it pops right back up in your inbox, sometime fifteen or twenty times, before the delete "takes". Same with archiving. It got better for a while, as the frequent updates seemed to be improving things. But the latest update brought all the problems back just as badly as ever. Sigh.

*Almost” perfect - but for the font size!

UPDATE FOR LATEST VERSION: Bad syncing? ~70% crash rate? Broken iCloud sync? Ineffective actions (deleted mail doesnt stay deleted, etc.) Seriously? Get it together guys! You had a good thing going. It was perhaps the best mail client out there. Youre edging towards being the worst - or at least the crashiest. Revert back a few versions if you cant fix this one. ------------------- I’ve been a huge fan of Airmail’s OS X app and have been using it consistently almost ever since it came out. The iOS app is a worthy companion to it - it is pleasant to interact with, has good integrations with several useful services (Slack would be nice to connect with), the iCloud integration is highly convenient, and in general it is well conceived and executed. BUT... ..here’s the one thing that severely diminishes a lot of the awesomeness.. the comically large font size. When reading emails sent from the iOS app on the OS X app, the email looks like a horrendously designed banner ad because of the ludicrous font size, completely dissonant with the rest of the thread or really with anything else. In itself this would be fine, some people do like big fonts. But *you cannot change it*, nor does the app respect the default iOS text size setting (which is literally the least I would expect, and speaking as an engineer myself, the easiest thing to code in). Please fix this ASAP - I will pay another dollar for it if I have to. I love your work, and really want to continue using this app, but this.. is.. just.. too.. bad.

Apple Design Award 2017?

July 10, 2017: Update after 2 months. Still has issues. A couple of messages in my inbox disappeared. Had to sign into the web Gmail and find them. Somehow they had the trash label applied to them even though I had not deleted them. Back to the Apple Mail app until another update releases. ----- Update: I received an email from you, the only one mind you (hoping you were replying to my support email), that said you received an Apple Design Award for this year. While a pretty design is nice, it does no good when your email app does not work. Me, along with other reviewers, are still having issues. You have not put out an update for almost 2 months. Please fix your app so that it actually works. ----- I want to love this app and every time an update comes out, I immediately install it to see how it works. Unfortunately, the badge icon does not match how many unread emails there actually are. Currently the badge shows that I have two unread messages, but I actually have 15 in my inbox. I have tried to reinstall it a few times to no avail. The Apple Watch complications doesnt update when emails are received or read. Outlooks email app updates instantly so I know its not a watch limitation. Also, The app still crashes when adding an email account initially.

Sticking with Apple Mail.app

I loved Airmail, and for a long time it worked well. Been very buggy since the 1.6 release and none of these .01 patches has fixed it. Mail I deleted pops back up next time I open the app. Syncing is miserably slow and often hangs. Even with "load remote images" turned on, remote images dont load. App crashes spontaneously. Ive posted and filed bug reports for the past several releases, yet problems remain. Wish I could revert back to 1.5, it had no problems.

Updated app freezes and crashes

Just updated to the latest version only to find that it freezes and crashes at start. Dont feel like taking the time to troubleshoot. Apps like this should just work.

BEST EMAIL APP. PERIOD!

Thus is the best app out there! Seamless, lots of features, works with Siri, very clean! Sara in support is awesome! Always responds within minutes!

Back to Apple Mail.

Update: Just installed this new version. All of the issues remain. Oh, well maybe next time. --------------------------------------- Airmail has to many issues with images. Ive sent Bloop all kinds of Data. Unfortunately they are unable to figure it out.

Not that great

When I bought it and tried it out ,it was great . Along the way it started to crash on me and notifications stopped for no reason . I had to delete the app reinstall it again , however notifications still not working . I tried doing what the CS tell me to do which basically what i already did and nothing worked . I deleted the app and moved to another one ??

Great Support

Had a question and the support staff quickly resolved it for me. Wonderful support. Great app.

Best Mail App

Air Mail offers more customization options than any client I’ve seen allowing you to custom tailer every detail of your experience. Their customer service is superb, typically responding within minutes of an question. I freqently try new clients but always go back to Air Mail.

Very satisfied.

Well designed application. Easy to use although laborious on few aspect. Printing and PDF layout is excellent. For me, it fulfills all me needs.

Top notch email program!

Airmail is one of the top leaders as email application. It is getting pretty tough to compare Airmail with any other such program. Ease of use, very programmable, easy set up and often updated. Well woth the price! I never give a 5star rating as nothing on this planet is perfect.

Pretty Good But Some Annoying Flaws

As of now, I have always liked the desktop client for Airmail. I had to use other apps for iOS and Android, and Airmail still doesnt have an Android App. I use Newton or have used Bluemail for that. I was hopeful that Airmail would eventually work for me everywhere but The biggest issue is that snoozed items often reappear in my inbox well before the time they should. This gets in the way of everything and basically means I cant use the app. And, that they dont have an Android app means it cant be used across multiple devices, really. I think that perhaps when using this across multiple devices there are just problems making sure everything stays in sync. Anyway, I will be going back to Newton for the time being.

Apple Design Award 2017?

Color icons

For the most part airmail works great. The one gripe I have is that the color icons in the inbox in the iOS app are completely different than those in OSX on my Mac. Like website icons and such are the same, but when there just the green circle with an F in it on my phone, its Pink on my Mac or something like that. Make it harder to skim through and find something quickly that you would otherwise recognize in one OS from the other.

Keep coming back

Ive been using Airmail on my phone and Mac for over a year, and periodically Ill switch and try new email apps, in hopes of finding something as good but with a dark theme. What keeps me coming back is search – Airmail performs the fastest and most complete keyword searches over multiple large accounts. That advantage makes it irreplaceable.
